Our 2023 Methven & Foothills Walking Festival was a great success with walks for all ages. Families enjoyed the famous Methven Scarecrow Trail as well as the Easter Egg Hunt at Awa Awa Rata Reserve. Our most popular event was the Family Fun Day at the Enchanted Forest where everyone got to meet a fairy or two. Our challenging walks were to Woolshed Creek and Scotts Saddle and discovering the newly formed track to Sharplin Falls.
The history buffs joined the History of Houses tour and learning more about our Railway history.  In addition we offered two well-being walks, a walk around the golf course and a walk for those with pooches.
And one of the highlights of the week for for those who enjoy good food and wine – walking around some of Methven’s well known restaurants for a drink and some great food.

Please note that if you prefer to just explore at your own pace; the Methven Walkway, Piwakawaka Walk and the Enchanted Forest are free and open every day for all to enjoy.
