Autumn is my favourite time of the year, and Canterbury has to be one of the richest for foraging finds. The quality of the soil here, the mixture of the dewy mountain air, acres upon acres of farmlands and hedgerows and the abundance of native and introduced trees and plants provide a great playground for all different types of edible plants and mushrooms waiting to be discovered! Come for a walk with me while we try to discover what we can find for eating, medicinal and also things to avoid!
